Kaitlyn, Cory & Ronan
Kaitlyn, Cory & Holden
Kaitlyn, Cory & Nolan
Kaitlyn, Cory & Lyra
Kaitlyn, Cory & Leila
Kaitlyn, Cory & Mila
How come middle names are always so common and rather bland? Ann, and Lee are very common. And I don't know why, I never ever EVER really liked those names
People are unimaginative! Also, middle names often get passed down. All the oldest girls on my mom's side have Ann as the middle name...it's stops with my baby though!
What do you think of Nicky on a boy?
Don't like it....seems too babyish to me for a boy that's older than 4.
My husband & I have always known our 1st girl name - Aili (pronounced like Isley). He is Finnish, and I LOVE that name. For a boy, he is hung up on Allister, but I hate it (Allister Crowley) Suggestions for similar OR Finn boy names? You have great taste!
How about Oliver? It has a similar sound and it's used in Finland. Other ideas (starred my favourites): Erik, Klaus*, Gabriel, Markus, Martin, Matias*, Niko, Sebastian*
My fiance and i were talking about baby names and i really love a name that isnt his favorite. This name has been my favorite since i was young. Should i compromise and not use it because he doesnt love it?
There are so many beautiful names out there, I’m sure you will be able to find one that you both love. I think you should compromise…that’s what I had to do with the name I had picked out since I was 14, Anastasia. I’m so much happier now that we have found a few names that we both love. Good luck!

what do u think of the name Rosalie Alora do u think they sound pretty together?
Kinda sounds like Rosalia Laura.
I know Wyatt is pretty popular in the States, but I've NEVER heard it in Ontario. Do you know if it's popular/becoming popular in Canada?
It's on Baby Centre Canada's Top 100 list. http://www.babycenter.ca/pregnancy/naming/top1002008/ In BC, there were 88 Wyatts born last year, which means it's pretty popular here, about as popular as Caleb. I don't know of a government baby name list for Ontario.
do you like the name Naya?
It sounds pretty but it's the name of a water company, and I think of that right away.

I kinda like Finn and Rhys for twin boys, but do you think that those names are rising in popularity too quickly? I think that they kinda have an Irish feel and that they both have one sylable so they go together well.
Great names! I hear Rhys quite a bit. Reece is the more popular spelling but Rhys is so much better :) Finn is rising pretty quickly, and I bet Glee will make it more popular. I think these are great twin names!
Whats it like to have random people ask you a million questions? Do you ever get creepy stalkerish questions?

I LOVE the names Rosalie do you thinks its going to get really popular because of twilight? i have a really popular name n it was annoying cos i didnt know who the teacher at school was talking it did my head in and i dont want that for my daughter.
I worry that it will get popular. It wasn't even in the top 1000 for babies born in 2008...I'm curious to see if it will make the 2009 list.
I just saw the most aweful name ever. Kynnidi. You know what it is?
Ugh. Kennedy is bad enough spelled correctly in my opinion!
I just wanted to let you know that my nanny just had a baby and named her Emily. I almost cried...if I had known that it was a name she was considering I would have talked her out of it :)
LOL I know the feeling. My brother-in-law and his girlfriend have Jacob picked out for a boy.
Any names you like from Harry Potter (if you read/know of it)?
I've never been into Harry Potter, so I don't know many of their names. I'm sure there are some names in there that I like though.
Problem with naming my dog, we got her the day before eater and still no name yet! I call her bunny, like easter bunny and so adorable. My mom wants to call her kitty (he dog) and my brother and his friends have een calling her gibby (gibson is a brand of

What is it like to be a vegetarian married to a meat eater? I'm a vegetarian so I just want to know what to expect :)
Jordan only eats meat if we're at somebody else's house or we go out to eat, since we don't have meat in the house. He's great about it and wants to take a vegetarian cooking class, to learn more meals that he can make for us. It was quite a transition for him when he moved in with me. When he lived with his mom, meat was the main part of every meal. So being married to a meat eater has been fine for me. It's harder for him, because he's restricted when it comes to making dinner.
Do you happen to know when the SSA list for 2010 is coming out?
2009 should be out in the next week or two!
Do you like Desmond? It kinda reminds me of Almond but maybe that would be an uncommon association?

I love the name Evangeline. What nickname would you use?
That's the reason I likely won't use the name - I don't love any of the nicknames for it :(
I cannot stand the names Molly, Sophia, or Isabella. What do you think?
I like Molly. Sophia and Isabella are beautiful I'm so bored of them.

do you like Samara or Samira?
I think Samara is really pretty, but it reminds me of The Ring. I don't like Samira very much.
How can the name Lachlan be so popular in Australia but not even make the top 1000 for the US on the ssa list???!!!!
I bet most Americans haven't even heard of it, and most would mispronounce it if they saw it I bet. I love Lachlan though!
which girl names do you like best from these? Victoria, Alexandria, Charlotte, Rose, Caroline, Annica, Cecily, Cecilia, Estelle, Celine, and Abigail? - For boy names? Sabastian, Jarod, Jasper, Jesse, Anthony, Bennett, Beckett, Nathan, or Casper?
Great list! I really like all of the girls names except Abigail. And for the boys, I like them all except Casper & Jarod. There are a couple spellings I would change (Annica to Annika, Sabastian to Sebastian) but great names!
Are you and jaquelynn very similar? Do you have the same intrests... Or not really?
Yes we totally have the same interests :)
Do you like the names Adria and Sidra (not together, just in general)?

Do you think that names got popular when they were in harry potter? I'm not a fan of most of the names. And Hermione doesn't sound like a lot of people would use it
No, Hermione isn't popular at all. I don't think the Harry Potter names appealed to the parents-to-be out there as much as the Twilight names do.
I love the name Ophelia for a girl. But as soon as I told my boyfriend and some friends they all said the same thing. It sounds like. OH FEEL YA. Do you think a lot of people would make this connection and she would be made fun of?!?!
I answered this one below too. A lot of people think of the 'oh feel ya' thing...It's such a pretty name though. I would still consider using it if I loved it enough. Most kids probably get teased for something or other, whether it's their name, their freckles, their size, etc. If you're really worried about it though, maybe you should pick something else.
http://babynameaddicts.com/cgi-bin/search.pl type in 'Edward'.
weird! I've never seen Edward listed as a girl name before.
in an ideal world, how many children would you like??
3 - two girls and a boy...but it changes sometimes.
I just watched the Friends episode where Rachel gives birth and Monica lets her use the name Emma, which has been her fave name since she was fourteen. I don't think I could ever "give away" my favourite name like that, even to a best friend! Could you?
Maybe...since I love a lot of names :)and if I had a friend that was as close to me as Rachel and Monica were...which I don't.
Are black people in Canada still called African Americans?
We just call them Black people or Blacks...even in my psychology of prejudice class at school where we had to talk about different races a lot. Sometimes people say African Americans because you hear it on TV a lot, but I don't hear it often...at least where I live.
what brand of tampons and pads(i know you dont' like them but what do you reccomend)do you buy or have bought and you were pleased?
I think the brand of pads I used to like was called Prima, but that was a looong time ago! For tampons, I buy regular Tampax ones...I've never really tried any other ones.
How is Jordan's weight loss going?
He lost 20 lbs a while ago, but nothing lately. He has to start going to the gym as much as he used to and he plans to do that really soon.
How much time everyday (When ur awake) do you get to spend with your husband?
It depends on the day because of my work schedule. Monday, Wednesday & Friday I see him after I get home from work at 10pm until we go to sleep around midnight. On Tuesday and Thursday and Saturday, I see him when he gets home from work at 6pm until bed. And Sunday we have all day together.
Would you not use a name just because it was a Twilight name?
Yup. I would consider Rosalie if it weren't a Twilight name :(
Before you met your husband did you think of think of the name Jordan as a girl or boys name?
Boy. I'm old enough that all the Jordan's I grew up with were boys.
What do you think of the names Hestia (girl) and Hermes (boy)? I like mythology names, and Hestia is great, but Hermes sounds too much like Hermie, which is not so good.
I don't really like either. I do like some mythology names though.
I was just looking up Polish names, and I saw that Edward is actually a Polish girls name. Isn't that weird?
I don't think that's true :/ I know Edwards is used in Poland for boys...
When will your next video be up? :) They're great distractions/breaks from revision! lol.
Monday I think! Pretty busy weekend. I'm working today...looking after my cousin and then teaching a little girl how to edit videos for youtube lol! Then tomorrow Jordan and I are taking my cousin out for the day, and then we're going shopping for my dad's birthday and mother's day.
Adelaide is my #1 favourite name, but I can't get over the fact that it ends in 'laide'. Should I still use it or no?
I've never noticed that about Adelaide...it always reminded me of marmalade lol! I think you should just use it, especially if you're planning on using a nickname :)
The 2009 SSA list will be out soon. Do you think Isabella will claim #1?
Yes I'm guessing it will be Isabella!
What do you think of the name Colbin? for a boy
Not really, it sounds to me like coal bin...a bin of coal.
Friday, April 30, 2010
I want a name that is really unpopular. i like Leland. I looked at how the popularity has changed and it has acutally been all over the place. Do you think it will become known to most people soon?
I like Leland too. I don't see it getting popular...so I think you're safe with that one.
I really like the name Alora but i was kinda taken back when i realized the name Laura is in it. Has that ever happened to you?
Hmm I can't think of an instance where something like that happened to me...I always noticed that the Laura sound was in Alora. My husband and I were talking about the name Alora the other day (he LOVES it) and he asked if I thought it would get shortened to Laura/Lora...but I don't think it necessarily would. I know of an Alora, who is always just called Alora.
Would you be happy if someone would get an idea and name their baby after one of your fav names/names from your videos?Maybe it already happened.
Yeah, I've helped a lot of people find the perfect name or middle name for their baby :)
Have you ever seen the 'Your Baby Can Read' commercial? Anyways, they show toddlers reading. And one of them was named Tuesday. What do you think of that?
Yep I've seen those commercials. My brother-in-law bought that for my nephew last year...but I don't think they used it very much. I am definitely not a fan of the name Tuesday.
What are some anagram names? I know what they are, but how many can you think of?
Well I can't think of that many off the top of my head, but I've looked through the HUGE list that behindthename.com has and it's pretty impressive!!
http://www.behindthename.com/anagram/
I'm thinking of maybe naming a future (female) dog Tessa, Fleur or Hermione. What do you think?
I think they're all good. I heard that dogs respond best to 2 syllable names, so I'd go with Tessa :)
Is chance a unisex name because i really like if for a girl's middle name?
I haven't heard of it used on a girl before, but girls are being named all sorts of boy names. I can see Chance being a unisex name. If you like it, I say go for it... especially in a middle name position ;)
What do you think about the names Chanel?
Chanel sounds like she would be a spoiled kid from a rich family. It sounds pretentious to me... However, I once met a REALLY cute baby named Chanel and her twin brother Chase...and they actually were from a really rich family! lol
Did you know that Christopher was once used for a girl?
Doesn't surprise me unfortunately. I've heard of baby girls being named James, Michael and all sorts of other boys names...
Do you think Aphrodite is unusable? (Afro-dye-tee) the goddess of love and beauty
Yeah I don't think it's usable.
How do you pronounce Nevaeh. And why do you hate it so much.
na-VAY-uh. I just think it looks silly, and that it doesn't even look like a name. It seems tacky to me. And to top it off, people are now giving their children this name with different spellings, like Navaeh...which defeats the whole purpose of the heaven-spelled-backwards thing to begin with!
Did you have a word in naming your sister when she was born?
I wanted to name her Lisa-Marie, but they named her Shaelyn Marie...so they kept the Marie part, but for a middle name.
The name I wanna give my daughter is the 153rd in popularity. Is that bad?My second choice is the 485th, but I love the first one so much more!On the other hand I don't to her to have anyone else in her class with the same name.Thoughts?
I think you're pretty safe if you stay out of the top 100. I think you should use the name if you love it...it's not like it's Emma or anything :p One thing you can do is look at whether the name has been rising, falling, or staying the same with regards to popularity. If a name is going up 100 spots every year, I'd stay away from it! I think I know what name you're talking about...checked to see what #153 is ;) and it isn't rising in popularity...looks like it's actually been slowly falling over the past five years so...use it!
What does the name Jaelyn mean?
Some people think it comes from the male name Jalen, which is a newly created name. And some people think it's just a combo of Jay and Lynn, which have the meanings "jay bird" and "lake".
Do you the name Jaelyn spelled Jaely,Jaylin,Jailynn,Jaelynn,Jailin,Jailyn,or J'lyn
Oh my. My mom has a friend named Jaye-Lynn. I really don't think any of the spellings are particularly attractive :/ I guess the ones that look to most natural to me are Jaelyn or Jae-Lynn because I'm used to seeing my siser's name, which is similar. (Used to be Shaelyn, but she changed the spelling to Shae-Lynn).
I know that classic names aren't necessarily your style, but I plan on naming my children Joseph and Caroline. What do you think?
I love a lot of classic names, especially for girls. I LOVE Caroline but I don't really like Joseph.
Whats an anagram name?
Anagrams are names that have the same letters in them, but in a different order. Sometimes twins get named anagram names, like Aidan and Nadia.
All meaning aside, I love the sound of "Danger". Would that be awful to name my son?
Yes. How about Dane?
Thursday, April 29, 2010
Do you like these names? Rhoslyn, Archer, Elspeth, Siobhan, and Caerwyn
Rhoslyn - I dislike this spelling. I prefer Rosalyn...pronounced the same way.
Archer - sounds pretty cool
Elspeth - cute
Siobhan - not a fan of this one..don't like the look or sound of it really.
Caerwyn - I think it sounds and looks a little feminine for a boy name.
Do you like the name Dakota better for a boy or a girl?
I really liked it for a boy when I was younger...before Dakota Fanning. Now I pretty much see it as a girl's name.
do you like the name Paris? girl or boy? there's Paris Hilton, and then Paris from Romeo & Juliet....
No I don't really like it. It's all girl to me...I think of Paris Hilton right away.
what do you think of the name Parvati? (haha from Survivor)
I kinda like it, and I like her! But it sucks that she gets called 'poverty' so much.
Would you rather have a baby girl or boy and why?
I've always wanted a girl. I don't know why. I guess I've always been a girl's girl. I loved playing with my sister and my girl cousins when I was little, and I never had any friends that were boys. I'm getting better about it though - I used to NOT want a boy...but now I know I'll be thrilled with either...even though I would still pick a girl if I had the choice ;)
so the anastasia ruby is out of the picture now?
Yeah...I realized how much my husband was settling with that one to make me happy, and that's not what I want. I want us both to LOVE the names we choose.
Do you like Aden, Aiden, Adan, Aidan, Aadan, Ayden, Aydan, Aydin, Aedan, or Aidyn
lol None of the above. If I had to pick, then Aidan.
What do you think of the name Zoey? What are nice middle names to go with Zoey?
I'm not a big fan of it but it's okay...I much prefer it spelled Zoe. Zoey sounds kind of funny with a classic middle name, so maybe something trendier like: Zoey Alexa, Zoe Alyssa, Zoe Brooklyn...
What do you think of the name Veda?
Totally makes me think of the Vada character in the movie "My Girl". It's not awful, but I don't particularly like it.
Could you elaborate on the name Alejandro? Also, I have this cool baby site... www.babydow.com, I've heard it's tons of fun! (:
Cool I'll check it out. About Alejandro...I can't really picture it on a little kid. But I think it's a fine name for a Spanish person. Not one of my favourite Spanish names but it's okay.
Are there any american names you like? I checked (babynames.com) and most of the ones I found are rather yuck. (And ever notice you don't find the catagory of canadian names?)
Yeah most are recently-created, which I don't like. There are some that I like though, like Aleah & Vivica.
I chose the name Jude. now,i have to find a good middle name...can you please tell me what do you think of these combinations and give a rate? Jude Caleb Jude Skyler Jude Sebastian Jude Shannon Jude Ryder Jude Heathcliff Jude Blake Jude Carson
Jade Caleb - nice
Jude Skyler - I'd stay away from Skyler because it's being used so much for girls now.
Jude Sebastian - fabulous! My fav from this list by far.
Jude Shannon - too feminine
Jude Ryder - sounds like someone that rides Judes (whatever that would be)...a jude rider! Ryder's a hard one to put in a middle name position.
Jude Heathcliff - very eye-catching...but I'm not a fan of Heathcliff.
Jude Blake - too choppy
Jude Carson - very nice
